Are you looking to buy or sell a Central Florida home? Before you embark on this exciting time of your life, you’ll likely have several questions and uncertainties when it comes to the real estate process. That’s normal! Your licensed real estate agent can fill in and go above and beyond to make the experience as easy and rewarding as possible.
When working with a real estate agent, here are a few tips that can help you get the most out of your working relationship:
Be clear about what you want.
One of the biggest mistakes home buyers and sellers can make is assuming that their wants, needs and preferences are “too much” for a real estate agent to process. We, as agents, want you to be straightforward and honest about what you want out of the buying or selling process—that makes the experience better for both parties! Of course, we can’t always control what the market has to offer (and in some areas, there is only so much diversity among homes), so you may need to be flexible in that area. But feel free to communicate your preferences with your real estate agent—we will be sure to search high and low for your dream home (or the closest thing to it!).
Don’t be afraid to admit uncertainty.
Now not every buyer knows what they want out of a home (or home sale). And that’s okay, too! Sometimes your uncertainty about your preferences can actually work to your advantage, as your agent will be able to show you a variety of options to choose from. The most important thing to remember here is to never feel like you need to spell out everything you want, or to force yourself into a corner early on. Real estate is a big, diverse industry to explore, so never feel like you need to “settle” or decide on big things early on.
Use their help with confusing forms or processes.
When you’re working with a real estate agent, one of the most beneficial resources available to you is help and expertise with often confusing forms, processes and other formalities. After years of working in this industry, for example, I am able to help you complete things that would make the average homeowner go, “huh?”
Finally, don’t be afraid to turn to your real estate agent for help with seemingly small problems. We’ve seen it all before, and the last thing you want is to sign the wrong contract or get into another binding situation that could have been avoided by simply turning to your agent for help!
Every home sale or purchase is different, and even if you’ve closed a deal in the past without the help of an agent that doesn’t mean you cannot benefit from one now. Be sure to weigh your options and, of course, always reach out if you have questions or need specialized help. That’s what I’m here for! Give me a call at 352-729-5597 and see how I can help you.
