Who was Mount Dora’s first mayor whose home is now on the National Register of Historic Places?
Mount Dora's first mayor was Capt. John Philip Donnelly, named mayor in 1910 when Mount Dora was granted a charter. On April 4, 1975, the Donnelly House was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Ever since, the Queen Anne Victorian style home continues to be a popular tourist destination in Mount Dora with it's well preserved, vintage charm.
